Frozen Palm Tree

More than just a surf school

Get to know us

Frozen Palm Tree was born from a dream of sharing the joy of kitesurfing with others. For the first many years, the school was run as a passion project alongside Tobias’ studies at DTU. The ambition was simple: to offer the best kitesurfing lessons in Denmark.

When Tobias finished his studies, he passed the torch to Christian, who was studying at the time. The overall ambition remained unchanged: to share the joy of watersports with others and provide lessons of the highest possible quality.

Since then, the school has grown from a small hobby project into Denmark’s largest kitesurfing school. In recent years, we have taught more than 1,500 kitesurfing lessons per season. Our ambition remains the same: to offer the best kitesurfing lessons in Denmark.

In addition to the surf school, Christian and Tobias opened the Frozen Palm Tree shop in 2021. You can find us at Amager Strandvej 130N in Copenhagen. Here, our ambition is also to provide the best possible service within watersports.

You can be confident that you will be helped by people who genuinely know what they are talking about. So whether you are looking for your very first kitesurfing setup or the kite that will help you jump more than 20 metres, you are in experienced hands.

Tobias
Kitesurf & Wing

With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Tobias is our most experienced instructor. He was one of the early pioneers of kitesurfing in Denmark and also one of the first to take up wing foiling. When he is not on the water, Tobias works with our webshop and marketing.

Magnus
Kitesurf

Magnus is our youngest kitesurfing instructor and is just 19 years old. He actually started out as a student with us when he was only 14. Today, he attends high school and teaches kitesurfing after school and on weekends. If you are heading out for a lesson with Magnus, you can be sure of a great atmosphere and plenty of enthusiasm on the water.

Christian L
Kitesurf

Christian L is one of our newest instructors. He joined the team in 2024 when he moved from Jutland to Copenhagen to finish his master’s degree. Besides being an excellent kitesurfing instructor, he is also a very talented climber!

Christian G
Kitesurf

Christian G has been part of the team since 2022 and is one of the instructors you are most likely to meet on the beach. His positive attitude and excellent teaching skills have made him extremely popular among our students. Christian’s good mood can turn even a rainy day into a sunny one! When he is not on the beach, you will find him working in the family business.

Neil
Kitesurf

Neill is our German instructor. He lives in Germany, where he works as a school teacher. Every summer, he joins us in July and August to help with kitesurfing lessons. Neill’s great patience and many years of experience make him an excellent instructor when you are learning to kitesurf.

Sofie
Kitesurf

Sofie is a passionate kitesurfer who studies economics when she is not on the water. Alongside her studies, she helps out with both kitesurfing and wing foil lessons. Sofie’s calm personality and ability to keep a good overview are especially appreciated by our female students. She is always one of the first on the water – as soon as there is even the slightest breeze, you can be sure she is ready for a session.

Christian E
Kitesurf

Christian E is a passionate kitesurfer and freeride skier, so during the winter you can be sure he spends at least six weeks on the slopes. Christian is one of those instructors who can handle all types of students and weather conditions. Whether the wind turns out to be a little lighter than expected or is really blowing, you can be confident that you have the right instructor by your side.
