Vi har samlet en del af de spørgsmål vi oftest får, når nye kursister kontakter os. Hvis ikke du finder svaret, så må du ej fortvivle, så kontakter du os selvøflgelig bare
No! After just two lessons, around 50% of our students manage to get up on the board. But kitesurfing is a sport that takes time to master, so you should expect to invest some time before you can kitesurf safely on your own.
Kitesurfing depends on the wind, which means we need the right conditions. That’s why we can only confirm the location the day before your course. We’ll send you the exact spot no later than 8:00 PM the evening before your lesson.
If we have easterly winds, lessons take place at Café Sylten on Amager.
If we have westerly winds, lessons take place at Sydvestpynten, also on Amager.
If we have Northern wind there are no suitable spots for beginners near Copenhagen, so in this case the lesson will be moved to a new day.
That depends – it’s very individual. Some of our fastest students become independent kitesurfers in shallow water after just 2–3 lessons. That doesn’t necessarily mean they can ride in both directions, but it means they fully understand the theory, can safely handle the kite in light to medium wind, and are able to continue practicing on their own.
In general, it takes about 3–5 lessons before most students are ready to train independently.
Below, we’ve outlined some rough numbers showing how far students typically get after 1, 3, and 5 lessons:
After the first lesson, about 20% of our students ride their first few meters.
After 2 lessons, around 50% are up and riding.
After 3 lessons, about 70% manage to ride.
After 5 lessons, most students are able to ride safely in both directions.
Please note that progress varies a lot from person to person and depends heavily on your previous experience with similar sports
Denmark is one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing. We’re truly one of the top countries when it comes to perfect conditions for the sport. Why? Because Denmark has plenty of wind, lots of shallow water spots, and tons of space!
Pretty much anyone can learn to kitesurf, it doesn’t require a lot of strength or endurance. We’ve taught people of all ages. Our youngest student was 7, and our oldest was 82!
The reason it’s so accessible is that about 90% of the pull goes through a harness worn around your waist. So that means you don’t need to be Superman to join in!
Yes! About half of our students come alone. Since we always teach in small groups, you’ll be paired with someone else who’s also coming solo. That way, you’ll also get to know a fellow soon-to-be kitesurfer!
Kitesurfing doesn’t have to be more expensive than many other sports. It does require an upfront investment to get started, but once you’ve taken your beginner course and bought your gear, the sport itself is free to enjoy.
We usually say that getting started costs about the same as two ski holidays – that includes both lessons and equipment. You should expect to spend somewhere between 15,000 and 25,000 DKK to get fully set up.
The good news? Your gear will last for many years. And while a ski trip might give you 7 days on the slopes, most kitesurfers ride between 50 and 100 days a year!
We generally recommend semi-private or private lessons, as that’s where you get the most out of your time on the water.
Group lessons offer less time with the gear and work best if you’re booking as a group and want a fun day on the water together.
Semi-private lessons mean you share equipment with one other student. You’ll get short breaks while observing your partner doing the same exercises — a great way to learn! You can easily book solo, and we’ll pair you with someone.
Private lessons give you your own full setup. The instructor can also take over the gear if you need a break.
Kitesurfing is best learned in shallow water. That’s why our lessons usually take place either at Café Sylten in Dragør or at Sydvestpynten, also in Dragør. On rare occasions, we teach at Farø, Lynæs, or Dalbyhuse if conditions on Amager aren’t ideal.
The day before your course, you’ll receive an email with the exact location.
Please remember, it’s your responsibility to show up at the right spot at the right time.
If you enjoy skiing, mountain biking, or similar sports, we can pretty much guarantee that you’ll love kitesurfing.
Just imagine being able to enjoy your passion over 100 days a year, right here in Denmark. No need to travel abroad, you can kitesurf all year round at home!
For us, kitesurfing feels like going on a ski holiday several times a week, but in perfect Danish surf conditions.
