Frequently Asked Questions About Our Wing Foil Courses
Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive from students learning to wing foil.
YES! With the right equipment and proper instruction, almost anyone can learn to wing foil. However, you must be at least 14 years old to participate in our courses. Most students manage to gently glide across the water using only the wing already on the first day. And within the first 5 days on the water, nearly all of our students experience their first flight – that amazing moment when you lift off and start foiling for the first time.
Many people can learn to wing foil without instruction – but it’s not an easy journey. On top of that, there are countless equipment options, and if you choose the wrong setup, learning to wing foil can become nearly impossible.
Our program is carefully designed with both gear and instruction tailored to make your start as smooth and easy as possible.
With us, you begin on large, beginner-friendly boards from day one, and gradually move to smaller sizes as you improve – making your wing foil journey as effortless as it can be.
Absolutely – Denmark is one of the best places in the world to wing foil. We’re lucky to have some of the most reliable wind conditions anywhere.
And here’s something most people don’t know: you can actually surf year-round in Denmark – as long as you’ve got the right wetsuit!
Your first wing foiling experience should be on a large, stable board with three fins. Once you’ve learned to control both the wing and the board, you’ll move to a smaller board. After mastering that, you’ll add the foil – and that’s when you’re ready to fly over the water.
This means you’ll go through several types of gear fairly quickly. By renting the right setup for your level, you can save yourself a lot of frustrating hours on the water – and avoid having to buy 2–3 different wing foil setups in your first year.
As with any sport, there’s a risk of injury – but wing foiling doesn’t have to be dangerous at all. On your first day, you’ll ride without the foil, so the worst that can happen is simply falling into the water.
Before you start foiling, you’ll learn how to control the wing board in both light and strong wind conditions – ensuring you’re fully prepared and confident on the water.
